It has been my lifelong dream to become an artist.

I grew up in Maynooth, Co. Kildare. As far back as I can remember, all I wanted to do was to draw and make things.

At school, art was my favourite subject, I was fortunate to have an amazing teacher. My memories from art class are not solely of creating things, they are also of connection. Art connected me to my fellow students in a way other subjects could not. It was a place where I felt I belonged.

EDUCATION
After leaving school, I completed a one-year portfolio course at Inchicore College of Further Education. Following this, I choose to study graphic design at Athlone Institute of Technology. I was drawn to typography and the potential design had to offer.

My four years in Athlone were amazing. I fell in love with design and the research process around it.

I left college and began working with a printing firm in Dublin. Following this, I made the move west to Galway. I fell in love with Galway, the people, the city, its culture, and the atmosphere. Galway has since become my permanent home.

My journey with education is ongoing. In 2012, I returned to college to study painting at GMIT. I love painting and I hoped it would help me to incorporate a more analogue approach to my design. In 2018, I completed a Master’s Degree in Graphic Design at the University of Hertfordshire (UK). Alongside my continued studies, I remained working as a graphic designer.

INSPIRATION
Many of my illustrations are food and drink related - working as a designer in the restaurant industry for many years makes it hard not to fall in love with all things food-related. Nature is another theme that is evident in my work. I lived in the countryside in Rosscahill, Co. Galway. I am surrounded by nature, and its beauty inspires me every day.
