About

In 2020, I launched my own Irish-made product range. My catalogue currently includes tea towels, aprons, prints and greeting cards.
I started my design studies in Athlone Institute of Technology. After graduating with a BA (Hons) in Visual Communication 2007, I worked as a graphic designer in Dublin for several years. On moving to Galway, I completed a BA in Fine Art (Painting) at GMIT. In 2018, I completed a Master’s Degree in Graphic Design with the University of Hertfordshire (UK).
I am currently the in-house graphic designer for the EatGalway Restaurant group, which includes Aniar Restaurant, Cava Bodega, Tartare Café + Wine Bar and Food on the Edge, for over ten years. I also freelance for several companies, many of whom are also in the restaurant industry. In 2011, I obtained a WSET Level 2 in Wine and Spirits. This aids me to work closely with sommeliers and restaurants owners on the layout and structure of their menus.

Product Range
For the majority of my time as a designer, I have worked with clients in the food & restaurant industry. This has helped developed my passion for food, nature and local produce. I have combined this passion with my love of illustration and created my own product range. I utilise bright colours and bold illustrations in all my products.
Many of my products illustrate the themes of food and nature, making those products ideal for inclusion on the shelves of cafés and restaurants with retail outlets. My range currently consists of tea towels, aprons, greeting cards and fine art prints. Visit my online shop to view these products.
I aim to expand this project further to create a variety of products. Follow me on social media: @edelmcmahondesign for updates.
Environment
I am passionate about preserving the environment and about supporting Irish jobs. All of my products are printed and produced in Ireland and, where possible, use recyclable material and/or biodegradable packaging.
Colour
I believe colour can bring joy into our lives. I aim to create products with bright & ‘happy’ colours. Of course, colour is subjective, my illustrations are a reflection of what I believe to be 'Happy Colours', which can brighten up our lives.
Membership
I am a registered member of the Design & Crafts Council Ireland and my products also feature as part of the Design Ireland Programme.
